been a while, huh? i shouldn't even be blogging now because i have 174 pages of reading due tomorrow that i have to do...TONIGHT. :P but. i thought i'd just take a little break. :D so...umm...hmm...well, i don't have a lot of pictures, but i guess i have a few. jenn's senior piano recital was the 17th, and it was sooo much fun!! she did beautifully, and looked beautiful too! her & jordan's families came up, and mr. & mrs. clay, and christa & charity came too to surprise her! so it was very fun to be all together. :) saturday, after having TONS of yummy thanksgiving food at jenn & jordans (thanks guys for letting me be a part-o-the-fam!! ;)), amy, corrie, megan, beth, and i all went to iron mt. beth came to school here last year and just came up from MI for a little visit that weekend, so we decided to all do something together. we met up with some other friends at pizza hut, made a quick trip to walmart, where amy & i played an exhillerating game of hide and seek with the other girls...(except they didn't know we were playing)...and then we all went to corrie's house to watch a movie. so anyway...that's what my pictures are from...i don't have any on here from thanksgiving break...mostly bc i didn't take any. hehe.

hahaha! happy hallowee...i mean harvest day. haha :) so jes & i actually got to use our wings, tiaras, wands, & HUGE fake eye lashes AFTER ALL! :D heehee! after the brilliant idea dawned on us during supper to go trick or treating, we went ballistic in the dorm getting all dressed up. the main recipients were originally mr. & mrs. jordan horak, (sorry jordan...you looked a little disturbed...weirded out...scared) but then we just couldn't let the fun end there, so we visited ALL the trailers and all three halls in the dorms. amy was originally going for a larry-look (from veggie tales), but being she's so tall (ok, so just taller than the rest of us), we decided she should be the jolly green giant. :) heehee! the best part were her green TIGHTS tho...i'm so bummed they don't show in the picture! :( danie was...what else?...ghetto girl. :) jes was the northland -fairy, and i was the pink-i-love-mom-fairy. hehe. :) THANKS FOR THE FUN NIGHT U GUYS!

ok so, you can so tell artist series was this past weekend (either that or someone is having a majorly bad hair day...haha) because there are like, bobby pins ALL over campus! hahahahaha! i saw four on the sidewalk walking to devos, and they were all like, within two feet of each other...HAHAHA! (evidentally all of 3 1/4 minutes was all that THAT hairdo could take)...then i saw a whole bunch scattered on the road on the way back from chapel. and there's always the conversations that you overhear about how many hours it took for everyone to do their hair. haha...girls are so pathetic sometimes when you think about it...but it's so fun. :)

ok, so i know i'm weird, but i really miss seeing CORN (i know there's corn up here, but...NOT like at home :)), and combines and stuff up here...it's not like i walk around like, "I MISS CORN!"...but when i got home, i realized how long it's been since i've seen farm stuff. :)) heehee.

mom and i went to this super cute little cafe in amboy before we went shopping on friday...it's sooo good :)

hahhaa...ok, so dad HATES it when i leave all my shampoo, conditioner, soap, ETC bottles in the bath tub after i take a shower...so!...one night when i was home, i found a whole bunch of bottles and just dumped them in. :) heehee....:)

pretty pastels!

wednesday was pastel day although not that many people participated. :P .... some people wore black, but i think if i was a guy i would too, because pastel is extremely girly. haha! today is a surprise day of nO cLaSsEs, so i'm pretty excited about that. i slept very soundly until 9:00 am when my alarm went off. i knew jess wasn't going to brunch at 10, but i assumed meg & danie were...however, i just got out of the shower & wandered into danie's room and she's still sleeping...hmm...i must've missed the memo. so anyway, here i am sitting at my computer with wet hair, waiting for life to occur around me as my roommates are still sleeping too...haha. i normally would go back to bed, but i'm a little too excited...you see, i'm going HOME TODAY!!! yes, today. the original plan was to leave after 6th hour on friday, and then get back to college monday night. however, plans have changed, and we're now leaving around 5:30pm today, and getting back to college sunday night. eee! i'm so excited! there is one extremely sad story as a result of such happy things though... we won't be here for the final day of spirit week! waaaaaaaa!!! haha...jk! today was supposed to be cartoon character/video game character day though, and i had big plans. our first obstacle was when dr. olson announced that today was supposed to be a day of rest and no classes...what are we going to do? we had such extravagant costumes!!! ok, before i go on, i should explain our brilliant beyond brilliant idea. ok, well being the poor college students we are, we were not about to spend a lot of money on this, and wandered around the goodwill store on sunday (last sunday...and "us" being jes, emily mckeown, and i). none of us had an idea of what character we wanted to be, but being it's october, they had a lot of halloween costumes. WELL. i happened to find wings and wands, and we all decided to be the three fairies from sleeping beauty!!! (flora- the pink one [me :)], fauna- the green one [emily :)], and merryweather- the blue one [jes :)]) ...haha wow...i feel like i'm back in algebra with all those brackets and parenthesis! hahaha! anyway, we also got feathery-sparkly tiaras, and fake eye lashes that we were going to make be sparkly. heehee. SO...with this new announcement of no classes on thursday, our heads started swirling...oh no! what are we going to do? go to brunch as fairies? pretend we missed the memo? flutter around campus anyway? but no. the ingenious jes had an idea. friday is SPACE day! and being none of us had any ideas yet as to how to dress that day, we realized that, duh, fairies are awesome! i'm sure they can go in space! they fly don't they? hahaha! so yes, we were actually planning on being fairies on space day, but then it was announced that friday would be space day AND cartoon day. BUT...(o the drama) then it turned out that we won't be here for friday....hehe...so...the end. the funny part is that emily just found out she is going somewhere too, and won't be here...so we have all these wings and wands and tiaras in our rooms and...i guess we'll just have to wait till next year...hopefully we can incorporate them into the spirit week days they choose. :) haha! (i'm sure we'll find a way ;)) oh...wait...one more funny story. ok so, i put my hair up all fancy and funky with the tiara the other night, put on my wings, and um...started "practicing" being a fairy. i futtered over to danie's room to show her my awesome costume, and after she laughed at...i mean with me, i went on my fluttery way back to my room. once again, i must've missed the memo (something that i've been doing a lot lately) that there was a "man on the hall" at the moment. so i happened to glance down the hall... and yes, standing there were two visitors, for some reason in the girls dorm. however, i'm quite accustomed to feeling stupid and making a fool of myself, so i decided to make the most of it and gave them a cute little wave with my wand, and fluttered back into my room. hahahhahaa! it was pretty funny. they looked a little disturbed, but they'll get over it. anyway, i congratulate you if you're actually reading this sentence, because that is a great display of patience...and for the record, please do not allow me to get on my computer when i'm excited and there's nothing else to do, ok? (i must admit though, it HAS been a long time since i've enjoyed a good blog ;)

gReEn DaY

aw, look at us on green day. aren't we just so cute and green. today was a killer for everyone...tons of tests & stuff due :P...but! it's OVER! and i'm so glad happy! because i don't really have anything big due before fRiDaY!! which is when i'm going HOME!!! :D so anyway, today being over makes going home seem so much closer. we all went to the volleyball games tonight and am now just hanging out in the room. i need to go practice for my lesson tomorrow so i'll prolly trudge over and do that before dorm lock. sigh. practicing is so hard at the end of the day. anyway, stay tuned for tomorrow's spirit week updates. i know ur exhillerated. :) love & miss u all. :)

gEeZeR dAy

Yay! it's geezer day here at northland because it's sPiRit wEeK!!! you all are in for a very exciting blog week here on the famous website of laura's pink giggles, because i will be posting pictures every day. i'm pretty sure i looked more like a geek than a geezer today, and after one class and then chapel i had had about all i could stand of my tight pulled-back hair, knee highs and tennis shoes, so by 11:00 i changed. and felt much better and much more human. :) jordan let me, jes & emily go to the goodwill store on sunday, and we got some stuff. i must say, i'm a little scared of the town of iron mountain after seeing some of the things that get donated to the goodwill. wow. i refrained and only got a pair of hiteous earrings, and this ugly blue "blouse" (ew...i hate that word...it always makes me think of something white, filmy, SEE THROUGH, and on an old (large) lady.) hahahahahaha! however, my costume for thursday is a little more extravagant...but you'll have to stay tuned till thursday to see what that is. (ooo...i can just feel the excitement highten!!!)

aw...my home is so pretty

yay! aren't you all just so proud of me?? i made a new template for my blog! the old one obviously needed re-doing because it never really worked as i'm sure all my millions of adoring fans noticed. ;) haha. anyway, i was really dreading re-doing it because i had sooo much extra stuff on it that it would take forever. but, alas, there's a new version of blogger called beta that is really nice and didn't require me to re-publish everything. plus, you can make your own template instead of having to pick a ready-made one! it's so much fun!! anyway, i was trying to find pictures to post, and came across these that i took the day before i left for college. aren't they pretty?? and in exactly one week from this very minute, i will be there! :D jes and i are going with jenn & jordan, and picking up jules on the way at maranatha. we're leaving friday after classes, and getting back here at school monday night. i'm so excited. :)))))

haha...it shows up way better on my camera screen, but don't my eyes look glowey blue like an alien from a sci-fi movie? haha...i think it's so funny, but you'd have to see my camera...it's much funnier. :) anyway, this is on our way back from church last sunday. emily mckeown rides with us now...she's SUCH a sweet & fun girl!! thanks jenn & jordan for putting up with our girly-girlness. :) we definitely have had a memorable extension so far this year, haven't we girls?? (ahem)

me & danie in gospels...hehe, we have fun in that class don't we? i think we scared the freshman guy in front of us though when danie started talking smack to me...she gets pretty ugly when she starts mouthing off! hahahahaha! it'd be even more scary to have known her back in high school when she wore chain, huge hoopy earrings, and all the ghetto (yes, that's how white i am...i don't even know if i spelled that right...at LEAST i know how to say "latino"...the i isn't soft megan...:)) garb....hahahahahahhahaa....i LOVED those pictures!!

yay! society football! sorry jordan, i cheered for judson sometimes too...afterall, it's not so embarrassing to be a part of the girls judson any more...they're moving up in the world! haha! i might be as brave as to allow my name to appear on the same sweatshirt as the word "judson" this year! :)

hahaha...this picture is sooooo funny...and if you knew the "context" (hmm...i think i've been listening to dr. bennett sr too much ;)), you'd be laughing too. ok, so this was on our way back from the football game...it was actually taken in celebration of finding my camera. we had gone through the FC and being it was a saturday, all the lights were off, and, well, you all know how easily scared i get, and especially in the DARK, so, yeah...jessica scared me. and i fell down. (WHY again am i posting this on the internet for all to see?) when we got to the rec hall, we were checking mail and i realized my camera wasn't in my jacket pocket any more. obviously it wasn't too hard to guess where i dropped it, so we went back and found it right away. oh my though. we were both soooo loopy, tired, and slap happy. wasn't that a hilarious story??!??!! yeah, you had to be there. never mind. jessica will get it.
