father's day!

well i'm a day late, but happy father's day dad! (cause everybody knows
he reads my blog ALL the time and checks it EVERY day :) haha! jk)
i actually had to work the 6-3 shift on father's day (at the Shepherd's
Inn...an asissted living facility for those of you who didn't know)
so that was kindof a bummer, but it was still good. i always hate it when
people work on sundays, but it actually turned out to be a blessing!
i just love my new job...the people get so excited over the simplest
things! being it was a holiday, we turned on the chandelier, used linen
napkins, had a fancy meal...and they just thought it was the greatest
thing ever. (i think the holidays are spread out enough that they forget
we just did these same things last month for mothers day, and for all
the previous holidays, but that's what makes working there so
fun...heehee...and funNY :)) so anyway, all that to say i was really
bummed about working on a sunday that also happened to be
father's day, but it turned out really good. after i got home i took
a quick showerand then we met grandpa & grandma & brian & claudia
for supper at culvers. Mmm! (i had the oriental mandarin salad-
which must not be very oriental bc i always love it. :)) anyway, it was a
fun time...i think we all just sat & watched mike be an idiot, but
hey...it's one of my favorite (not to mention most frequent) passtimes. :)
then we went to hyvee quick to get softener salt but they didn't have it...
(pretty much the only reason we went there instead of wally world
first was bc i was in dire need of a turtle frapp and the ONLY starbucks
in town is in hy vee! haha!) ...so then we went to walmart. cept i
didn't go in. i was wearing white pants. did i mention i got a
frapp? need i say more? (yes, sam. i spilled.) i tell ya, i'm sooo paranoid
about this now. white and me....it's just not meant to be. one of the first
times i ate with sam at college we had ravioli...and i was wearing a white
tailored shirt. : as i cut my LASTin half it totally slid
off my plate onto my shirt. and almost EVERY time i've worn white since
then i've spilled something. : so yes, i mourned in the parking
lot and finally decided to call megan to take my mind off of the horrible
occurrence. (wow...this is such a weird post...from
father's day to softener salt, to walmart, suddenly to ravioli squares...)
ANYWAY...
that was pretty much my day. a little different, but then again our father's
days are always a little different...no dad, not because YOU are "a little
different" (hahhaa!), but because we are usually at a tractor show
on this weekend! i think this was the first time in ...8 years or so?
dad & mike did go this year (Amana, IA) but they left it saturday afternoon
and got home around 10 that night. so! it was fun to be with family &
home for the day (or for the second half of it anyway...at least not at
a tractor show...heehee! :)... i must say that Amana Iowa HAS produced
very impressive tanning weather each year tho...:))
so....happy father's day "to the man who taught me to drive!!!!" :D
(don't ask)
i love you so much dad!!! :))))
to all those of you who are dying to know
if my white pants are ok, they are.
i know you were scared for them.
(is anybody sick of me talking yet???)

I always feel like an idiot when I visit your blog, Laura, because I sit here and smile at the computer the entire time! I'm sure the guys are all wondering why I'm smiling at my computer screen...if only they knew! Glad your pants made it out ok! :)
